Cute, but with sub-standard constructionJan 11, 2012
By JCain My eight-year old was thrilled with this when we gave it to her at the beginning of the school year. Pink + Peace Sign + Wheels + Pull-handle = Rave Reviews from our little girl.
But with the benefit of about two months of hindsight, dad isn't so thrilled about this product. The seams started to fray after a couple of weeks. Less than a month after we gave it to our daughter, one of the straps was missing - all we had was about twenty feet of frayed string where the strap used to be connected at the bag. A couple of weeks later, and the handle (which collapses down if you're really using this as a backpack) wouldn't stay up unless you held it.
Let me say a word about our retailer (Broad Bay Cotton) -- they were fantastic. I emailed them through Amazon, and they replied almost immediately. I ended up speaking with them on the phone, and they replaced the bag without any hassle. They didn't even want me to send the old bag back to them. So they get five stars, A++ just a great retailer that is a credit to the Amazon community.
But back to the bag -- if you're going to put this into the hands of a kid under 12, I think your money would be better spent elsewhere. This cost us $66.48 including shipping. For that kind of money, I would expect something that would last at least a couple of years. Next time we'll do LL Bean or Lands' End.

By marco This was a big deal for my daughter. It had to be right and it had to be here before school started. The Seller had problems with stock so there was a slight delay but the Customer Service guy was very nice and forthright and even threw in a free carry bag. I thought that was classy.
